Psychic Master Show
通灵大师秀
Synopsis
Gu Zhou is a “black-red” celebrity in the entertainment industry—famous only for his notoriety. Recently, rumors spread that he was acting like a diva despite his low status, getting him roasted so severely that he couldn’t land a single gig for a while. Fortunately, his resourceful manager and agency managed to find him a variety show to help him repair his public image.
“The Psychic Master Show”
Gu Zhou’s voice cracked in shock: “…Psychic? Master?”
His manager comforted him, “Don’t panic, there’s a script. Just act a bit convincing when the time comes, and make sure you don’t get exposed.”
Looking at the cheat sheet his manager handed him, Gu Zhou instantly felt at ease. So, it was just a regular scripted variety show; he had been scared for nothing. As long as there was a script, he was fine. Gu Zhou felt his acting skills were decent enough, especially since the other guests were just amateurs or average influencers.
He wasn’t afraid at all!
However, Gu Zhou soon realized that everyone’s acting seemed a little too realistic! There were shamans performing ritual dances, people using Gu worms and hexes, face readers and fortune tellers, and even mystics invited from abroad…
Where on earth did the production team find this group of Best Actors and Actresses? Were they trying to make it impossible for an average entertainer like him to survive? Table flip!
Gu Zhou could only clutch the Tarot skills he’d crash-learned in three minutes to create a persona, assume the title of “The Little Prince of Tarot,” and brace himself to go on stage.
But as the show went on, Gu Zhou suddenly realized that he had actually managed to blend into this bizarre circle of “realistic acting.”
Gu Zhou noticed that the most popular contestant—a mixed-race man who looked like a descended angel—kept staring at him. Gu Zhou was curious about what exactly he was looking at.
“The moment I first saw you, I saw what we would be doing in the future.”
Gu Zhou asked quite innocently, “Doing what?”
The man didn’t answer directly, but instead said, “You have a mole on your inner thigh.”
Gu Zhou looked confused. “Hmm?”
The man continued to remind him, “And my hand is currently…”
Gu Zhou finally caught on. His eyes went wide, and he moved quickly to cover the man’s mouth, his eyes asking silently: You’re not talking about what I think you’re talking about, right?
However, the man nodded with feigned innocence. It is exactly what you think it is.
Gu Zhou cracked.
