A Day of Mine, Reaching Yours
나의 하루, 너에게 닿는 시간
Synopsis
At the pinnacle of Yongcheon High School, an institution governed by an invisible but rigid hierarchy, sat Na Yuho. He was the star atop a glittering Christmas tree: brilliant, untouchable, and visible from everywhere. To others, he was an object of envy and fear; to himself, he was a voluntary loner, practicing a calculated indifference and a coldness that spared no one.
It was only natural, then, that Na Yuho had no idea who the school’s “peasant” was, the girl they called the “Bell-maid,” an outcast drifting like oil on water. It didn’t matter that she sat in his very same classroom.
“You’re the Grim Reaper, aren’t you, Ms. Yu Chayim?”
Still, mistaking a girl who looked exactly like a student for a messenger of death was a bit much. No, it was beyond strange.
“Let me be clear: I cannot afford to die.”
On an evening when a violent typhoon lashed the earth, Yu Chayim found him. For reasons unknown, the golden boy was wallowing in a muddy rice paddy like a drowned rat. She dragged him to the warmth and safety of her home, lent him her most prized possession, a hoodie from her favorite idol group, ‘The One’, and served him nine packs of ramen for dinner. She couldn’t help but wonder: did he hit his head when he slipped in the mud? Whatever the case, his madness was terrifying.
“So, what you’re saying is… you’re from the future? Is that it?”
Yuho loathed wasting time. He had mountains of documents to review and a life where every second was tallied like gold. The idea of a Grim Reaper spouting nonsense in front of him was an insult. The threshold of death did not suit a man of his stature. He refused to succumb.
“The evidence of my death? How do you intend to prove it?”
Yet, as he listened, the Reaper’s words began to carry a haunting logic. Was it true? Had he really slipped back eleven years through the seams of time? The why and the how didn’t matter. If he could find a way back to his future, that would be enough.
Or so he thought.
Now, he lives for the descent of night.
“I wait for it every day with a desperate heart. The time, Chayim, when I can finally return to you.”
