Synopsis
She thought it was only a dream.
To marry Julian, the man she had loved in secret for so long—she was so happy she could hardly believe it was real.
Karin knew Julian did not love her. She also knew the truth: what he wanted was the reputation of the Panzner count’s family, renowned for its integrity and noble standing.
So it was all right.
Even if Julian remained indifferent to her.
Even if he never formally proposed.
Even if the engagement ring he sent through a servant did not fit her finger.
If she could become his wife, she was willing to endure it all.
But with only a week left before the wedding, her brother disappeared after leaving an enormous gambling debt. Her father collapsed from the shock and died, and the title and estate were handed over to a distant relative whose name she didn’t even know.
