The Tiger Husband’s Little Fulang
虎相公的小夫郎
Synopsis
Lin Baiwu was abandoned as a child because he was a shuang’er.
He was taken in and raised by an old carpenter. Though male, he was frail and weak, unable to carry heavy loads or do hard labor. His pregnancy mole was faint as well, making him poor at bearing children.
When he reached marriageable age, not a single person was willing to marry him. Lin Baiwu thought to himself that, at worst, he would simply rely on his father and spend the rest of his life with him.
Until one day, Lin Baiwu picked up a ‘cat’ under a tree. The ‘cat’ was gravely injured, and after treating its wounds, Lin Baiwu softly asked, “Do you eat small fish?”
Yuan Xiao, the dignified king of the mountains, was being treated like a mere house cat, what utter humiliation!
He sneered and turned his head away in disdain. Yet the delicate-looking youth stubbornly placed the small fish in front of him…
“I said I’m not eating it, take it away! Such trivial little fish isn’t worth my notice!” chomp chomp …wait, it’s actually pretty tasty?
Just when Lin Baiwu finally nurses the ‘cat’ back to health, it suddenly disappears.
Until one day, a burly man came to his door, with betrothal gifts lined up from the east end of the village to the west, explicitly naming him as the one he intended to marry.
