Synopsis
Lying on the operating table, Lin Wenjun reflected on her life.
It had been pretty good, all things considered: her husband had made his fortune in the 1990s, never kept a mistress or cheated; their three children were dutiful enough; she had never suffered great hardship or grave injustice. So why, then, was she still dissatisfied? Was it because her husband had drifted further and further away? Because her three children resented her for not treating them equally? Or because her natal family leeched off her endlessly, yet no one ever remembered her kindness? If she could live it all over again, she definitely wouldn’t be a stay-at-home wife, wouldn’t swallow her pride with those ungrateful wolves, and absolutely wouldn’t give away her second daughter for adoption… She wouldn’t… marry her husband again.
Her eyes opened. Lin Wenjun was back at age thirty-two, already pregnant with her second child.
