Synopsis
The Bai family, a declining Daoist clan that had been in obscurity for a century, finally produced a ghost-catching prodigy born with a natural Spirit Bone.
The entire family was overjoyed, waiting for her to revive the clan and restore its prestige.
But Bai Xianxian, the once-in-a-century prodigy, was afraid of ghosts.
The kind who wouldn’t even dare to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Bai Xianxian fought tooth and nail against her family, majoring in Mechanical Engineering in university and insisting on walking the path of science.
The year she graduated from university, the clan elders finally compromised.
Elder: “We won’t force you anymore. We’ve arranged an internship for you at the city hospital—fixing ambulances. Go to work.”
Bai Xianxian: “Thank you, Elder! I’ll fix them well!”
She went happily, only to discover the job was guarding the morgue.
Elder: “Build up your courage.”
At the morgue, there was a quiet, socially anxious coworker.
Obedient and diligent, hiding from people whenever they approached, adorable and huggable.
Bai Xianxian lived a lazy, salted-fish life at the morgue, being fed by the little cutie.
Until one day, she saw him expressionlessly crush a Vengeful Spirit’s head with one hand.
Later, Bai Xianxian invented the Automated Integrated Ghost-Catching Artifact,
Pioneering the “deaf-and-blind” style of ghost catching,
Becoming the first person to remotely control robots to combat rogue evil spirits.
Every Daoist who used it sang its praises.
[Fearful coward who doesn’t know her own strength X Socially anxious big shot born with the ability to see ghosts]
[One fears people, the other fears ghosts—the Manifest Spirit CP is a perfect match]
