Travelling to the Republic Era as a Tailor穿到民國做裁縫

Synopsis

Fashion designer Ji Qingzhou was on a trip seeking creative inspiration when he checked into a guesthouse said to be a century old. After falling asleep, he woke to find the room unchanged—except he himself had been transported a hundred years back in time, into the Republic of China era, now living as the ‘lucky bride,’ the male spouse of a blind, retired military officer.

The officer was tall and striking, with a cold, contrarian temperament. He was quick to fire off sharp remarks and largely ignored Ji Qingzhou’s presence.

Ji Qingzhou: Marriage isn’t an option here. I need a divorce!

But having just transmigrated, Ji Qingzhou had nothing to his name except a single suitcase, completely broke.

Ji Qingzhou: Well, better a wealthy husband than life on the streets

To make it through this chaotic era, Ji Qingzhou took on the part of a devoted spouse tending to his blind husband, all while quietly reviving his former profession.

He started by taking over a tailor shop, mending and altering clothes for locals, then moved on to opening his own studio and boutique, and eventually launched a fashion magazine and grew it into a full-fledged brand empire… Bit by bit, Ji Qingzhou’s reputation spread across the country, extended into overseas markets, and he became a trendsetter ushering in a new fashion era!

Years later, having firmly established himself in the Republic of China era, Ji Qingzhou tossed a divorce agreement at his husband—a man who’d grown obsessive about tracking his every move—declaring on principle that he deserved the freedom to love as he chose in this new age.

Jie Yu’an, though claiming to be a man of traditional values, was enraged—yet still kissed Ji Qingzhou so thoroughly that his head spun and his lips went numb.

Waking up afterward, aching but thoroughly satisfied, Ji Qingzhou gazed at his husband’s broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs and thought: Fine, what’s done is done, might as well make this work.
