Golden Wind Ballad
凭什么她一回头我就在
Synopsis
Lou Lingfeng, the eldest son of the Lou family, became the Head of the family at the age of twenty-four, ranking first among the five major families, yet he couldn’t wash away a stain from his past.
During his youth, while studying, he fell in love with a girl from the Jin family, another prominent clan.
He confessed his feelings publicly, only to be met with the reply, “I don’t like someone like Young Master Lou.”
This led to speculation that his delayed marriage was due to lingering feelings for this past love.
Lou Lingfeng simply laughed off the rumors, but one day, the girl from the rumors actually came to his door.
Facing his former lover, Lou Lingfeng felt both pathetic and laughable.
Pathetic because: someone he had once loved had ultimately become a servile, opportunistic commoner.
Laughable because: did she think he was a fool?
In the long silence, Jin Jiuyin sensed the resentment from her former acquaintance.
Still holding a grudge.
Unsure how much of their past affection remained, Jin Jiuyin said, “Master Lou, I’ve come seeking medicine.”
“What ailment?”
“Blindness.”
A few months later, the two formally agreed to be engaged.
Faced with his friends’ doubts, Lou Lingfeng had his own plan, “I’ll marry her, then divorce her, to teach her a lesson about looking down on people.”
His friends praised him, “Excellent move.”
Lou Lingfeng: “It’s easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but difficult to go from extravagance to frugality. Just give her money to spend and spoil her.”
His friends nodded.
“Master Lou is brilliant.”
Lou Lingfeng: “So, what if she’s afraid of her wife? If word gets out, it’ll be her who loses face, not me.”
His friends remained unmoved.
“Well, as long as you’re happy.”
One day, the two quarreled and were in the midst of a cold war when their personal maid asked worriedly, “Aren’t you afraid that Master Lou might break off the engagement?”
Lou Lingfeng stood behind the artificial hill, seemingly wanting to see her reaction. He saw his fiancée, who had claimed to have repented and loved him to death, with a hint of disdain on her beautiful face.
“He’ll coax himself.”
