She was Filled with Regret for Her Cold, White Moonlight
清冷白月光她追悔莫及
Synopsis
Qi Yu never expected to meet Jiang Ya again.
Ever since her confession was rejected after high school graduation, and she clearly understood that Jiang Ya was a straight woman, Qi Yu had vowed never to cross that line again.
Adults are always dignified. Even when fate brought them back together, Qi Yu was determined to remain just friends.
But she never expected that the Jiang Ya she reunited with had changed.
Jiang Ya now spoke to her in a softer tone, grew jealous even when Qi Yu simply petted a cat, and even knocked on her door late at night, drunk and wearing a slip dress she’d never dared to wear before.
Yet Qi Yu no longer felt her heart flutter.
She had learned to hide her gaze, and was even about to start a new online relationship.
Until Jiang Ya discovered her chat interface. Her eyes turned completely red with anger and desperation. She chased Qi Yu all the way to her doorstep, pinning her against the wall and kissing her until she was breathless.
In the tangled breaths, Qi Yu heard the woman who had always been so poised ask in a trembling voice:
“What do I have to do… for you to love me again…?”
— Qi Yu only realized it too late: the tears Jiang Ya shed on graduation night weren’t a rejection.
They were the first crack in a glacier silently crumbling after the snow melted.
