Synopsis
Jung Yikyung, the second son of the chairman of Jaekyung Construction, is a recessive Omega who is practically a Beta. Never acknowledged by his father, he has lived like a shadow, serving as a page-turner for his genius pianist brother.
Then, one day, a man approaches him.
For reasons unknown, Kwon Dohyeon, an ultra-dominant Alpha, shows more interest in Yikyung than in his brother.
“I would prefer it if my person no longer played a role that exists only to make someone else shine. Because in my eyes, he is the most brilliant person in the world.”
Dohyeon is the first person to ever choose him—the one who tells him he doesn’t have to remain a page-turner, a supporting role in someone else’s life. Yikyung falls helplessly in love, willing to give everything he has for Dohyeon.
All the while, he fails to notice the strange dissonance that occasionally flickers behind the man’s eyes.
“I want to marry Jung Yikyung. That is, if he’ll give me his permission.”
After unjustly losing his family at the hands of the chairman of Jaekyung Construction, Dohyeon has lived for over a decade with nothing but revenge.
During those long years of single-mindedly charging forward, he never once questioned the righteousness of his actions while passing through that grueling tunnel of darkness.
Jung Yikyung was merely the most useful means to achieve his goal.
And yet, for the first time in his life, Dohyeon finds himself harboring doubt.
Was Jung Yikyung truly just a means to an end?
—A man consumed by revenge, and a man who cannot help but love, unaware of the scheme surrounding him.
This is their story, as they turn to the next page.
