Heather thought the ill-fated connection would end with graduation from the Academy. She never imagined it would resume years later.

The arrogant young noble who always did as he pleased reappeared before her, this time as her superior officer, a malicious man who hid behind a smiling face while subjecting her to unjust torment.

“Miss Heather, have you finished preparing the reply for Miss Oslon?”

“Knights are all like that, aren’t they? A bunch who only boast of their strength. That’s why someone has to do the thinking for them. In that regard, Miss Heather is an invaluable subordinate, isn’t she?”

Even creating situations meant only to trouble her.

Unable to find any logic in Michael Luther’s endless harassment, Heather grew to dislike her superior more and more. Yet, for some reason, he didn’t seem to dislike her nearly as much as she thought.

To make matters worse, an accident occurred, an aphrodisiac-laced drink intended for him was unknowingly shared between them.

“I would never do anything bad to you. I swear.”

For someone swearing that, he seemed to do it all the time.

Though shaken by unexpected sides of Michael she hadn’t known, Heather soon realized she was losing focus whenever she saw his smiling face. That was certainly no good sign. Memories of their past began resurfacing, only adding to her confusion.

In the end, she resolved to push him away.

“Heather. Do you really want to deny my feelings that much?”

Damn it. Why is this man so hard to push away?
