The Sun in the Mirror
거울 속의 태양
Synopsis
Andrea, isolated and confined alone within the monastery.
One day, an uncle he hadn’t even known existed — Duke Fernan — appears before him.
“Your Majesty. I know this must be very confusing, but…”
“Why are you calling me ‘Your Majesty’?”
He arrives with the corpse of Andrea’s twin brother — the only emperor of the Andor Empire, Mikael Andor — whose neck had been snapped.
[Two suns will burn the empire.]
The twin brother who had been abandoned under the prophecy of the Grand Temple — Andrea.
At his uncle’s demand for an emperor bearing Fernan’s blood, Andrea is taken from the monastery and placed upon the throne as the empire’s puppet ruler.
And before him appears—
‘Trust me. I’ll get you out of here!’
The boy who had once been his first love, who swore long ago to save him. Now, however, that same man has become Duke Fernan’s sole political rival—and the man whom Mikael, Andrea’s dead twin, had once loved.
“The Duke of Waldeck has arrived.”
It was Archiel.
“Do not blame yourself, Your Majesty. I only wished to show you not to fall prey again to Duke Fernan’s schemes.”
At Kiel’s words, spoken as if to comfort him, Andrea let out a faint, bitter laugh.
“Not to fall prey to his schemes, you say… But even if I had known the contents of that document, could I have refused to sign it?”
“…Your Majesty.”
Kiel softly called to him as he rose from his seat.
Then, kneeling on one knee before the guilt-ridden Andrea, he bowed his head deeply.
“I told you, did I not? That I would protect you. That this time… I would save you.”
