The Cave Guarded by a Dog

A dark, damp gaze, like that of a cave, lingered on my chest.

“How are you supposed to nurse my pups like this?”

His voice was wet. His piercing black eyes lingered particularly long on both of my nipples.

“I-I’m a man. I can’t have babies.”

I thrashed my head, begging him to let go of my hair.

“Then I’ll just kidnap a second one and take another bride, won’t I?”

A cackling laugh pierced the sticky air.

“I wouldn’t mind taking in five at once. The more pups, the better.”

A rough force pushed me back. Thud, my head hit the mattress. It felt like my skull would split open. As I inhaled sharply, my swollen cheek felt like it was stuffed with cotton in my mouth.

“Only a fool like Hades would keep just one bride.”
