Egru was a famous pushover. So much so that he was tricked by his only friend into incurring a massive debt.

Levian, who had recommended the investment, laughed as he consoled Egru, who was crying as if the sky had fallen.

“Still, who else would look after you like I do, right?”

Six years later, still unable to repay his debt, Egru goes to visit his younger brother, who has been appointed as the Captain of the Holy Knights, to borrow 300,000 gold coins. The response from his only younger brother, D’Élysée, is cold.

“I’ll give you the money, brother. It’s just pocket change, no big deal.”

“When did you abandon me, and now you’re living so pathetically? It breaks my heart to see you like this.”

In the end, unable to repay his debt, Egru leaves behind only a letter and departs from his friend and brother…
